To those who love books
16.05.2005

On June 1st 2005 at 5 p.m. an international exhibition of artistic bookbinding Scripta Manent III was opened at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design. If traditionally a classical volume or a known contemporary author is selected out for binding, then this time the text collection consists of fairytales and poems written by 7-15 years old Estonian children. On the one hand the children’s creation is genuine and spontaneous, on the other hand it is sensitive and susceptible to the noise and notions of the society. As such, the collection gives us a hearty and vivid picture of contemporary life in Estonia. The title of the fairytale collection is „The Best Thing in the World“. The organizer of the exhibition is the Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders, the translator of the book is Silja Oja.

In the framework of the charity project "Hand in Hand" a charitable film and a book titled "Me You Me" were compiled to be used in the family education classes at schools in Estonia. Both treat the sexuality of the youth in present-day society in the forefront of correct values which initiate from home and school and influence youngsters in the development of their personality. The book comprising stories about sex and sexuality told by 13-22-year-olds reached schools this year. The patrons of the project were the famous Estonian actors Jaan Tätte and Anu Lamp, the photographer of the project was Annika Haas.
